The A SCHOOL, in its eighth year running, is a relatively new language school in Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic.
Though owned and operated by a professional English teacher (nicknamed E.T. by the students), A SCHOOL also offers courses in Spanish, French, German, Russian and Czech for foreigners.
As English is the most popular foreign language for Czech learners, courses in English represent most A SCHOOL offerings, where you find courses anywhere from Beginner to Proficiency. Business English is also taught, usually off-site at a company itself. We offer courses for children as well.
A SCHOOL premises, located just 5 minutes from the city center, provide a comfortable and cozy atmosphere in which to teach and learn. There are six main classrooms which are intended for a maximum class size of 14 (A SCHOOL guarantees 10 students in a class, with the exception of the intensive English courses, which may have up to 14).
The tables and chairs are all movable and the classroom design flexible, making classroom management an ease. Each classroom contains modern equipment for doing listenings (cassette and CD), and two classrooms also have a video and DVD player.
In terms of materials, there are instructional videos available, including the NEW INSIDE OUT video series, as well as grammar reference books and other resource materials. Some examples of textbooks used at A SCHOOL are NEW ENGLISH FILE, NEW CUTTING EDGE, NEW INSIDE OUT, BUSINESS OPTIONS - to name just a few.
The school also has internet connection, which can be used for preparing lessons and catching up on e-mail. A photocopier is also available.
